What is a PICCline Sleeve?

A PICCline sleeve is a simple tube of fabric - usually scuba - which is gently shaped to fit the arm and cover the *end of the PICCline.

Patients are usually given a piece of elasticated bandage when they leave the hospital with a newly fitted line, which often becomes dirty and tired.  Our sleeves are designed to look less 'medical' than elasticated bandages and are available in a range of colours and prints.  They can also be worn as a pair to mimic a layered T-shirt.

Jenny was our initial inspiration to start PICCPals. She was the cheekiest lady with an absolutely wicked sense of humour.  After finding herself, in the second national lockdown of 2020, going through a fairly brutal regime of chemo and breast cancer treatment, her friend Nikki (our Chair) made her some purple PICCline sleeves as a way of letting her know that her friends were thinking of her. These helped Jenny feel loved and understood at a time when she was physically and mentally isolated.

Jenny remains our inspiration to this day. We remember her birthday every year, her daughter Lucy supports PICCPals whenever she can, keeping her legacy going.  We talk about Jenny all the time at any public speaking event and she puts a bit of fire in our bellies whenever we think of her.

In a wonderful stroke of synergy our collaboration with Hearts of Hope will see PICCPals distributing unique hearts that are purple, not only Jenny’s favourite colour, but also the colour that represents healing.

What information do I need to order?

It is really important that you order the correct size of sleeve, so please take an accurate measurement around your bicep (including the PICCline) in centimetres.

If you order the incorrect size we ask that you do not re-order on the website (as this will just be cancelled) but return the sleeves to us with a large stamped, self-addressed envelope to cover the additional postage costs. We also ask that you pop a note in the envelope to explain what size you would like in return.

Next select a design/ colour and the correct measurement from the right hand panel (our sleeves are made in 1cm increments)

Remember to make sure that you check the correct acceptance box as a patient*.

*NB: If you are ordering for friend/ family member you should follow the steps as above but select the correct acceptance box as the patient's representative.

How many can I have and what do they cost?

People can order up to THREE items for FREE so if you are only ordering PICCline sleeves then you can have up to three colours/designs FREE in the same size. If, however, you are ordering these together with either a Rigwrap or FinTee then please make sure that the maximum amount of items in your cart does not exceed THREE.

Postage and packing is also free (we raise the money to cover this too!).

NB we only ship to UK locations at present.

Although donations are not necessary, we are a small charity and we are run solely by volunteers (no-one is paid a penny) therefore all donations go towards making and sending out our beautiful products.
